SEO skills for Gemini CLI
Google's Gemini command-line agent. Install any SEO skill into Gemini CLI with one command. Technical audits, content briefs from SERP intent, schema markup, keyword research, and local SEO.
Install into Gemini CLI
$ npx skills add https://seoskills.sh -a gemini-cliInstall in 4 steps
Pick skills from the catalog
Run this in your project. The CLI lists the skills our index serves, nearly the whole catalog, and asks which ones to install for Gemini CLI. Add --skill '*' to take all of them.
$ npx skills add https://seoskills.sh -a gemini-cliOr install a single skill
Each skill page has its own command; add -a gemini-cli. Add -g as well to install it for every project instead of this one.
$ npx skills add https://seoskills.sh --skill ai-search-optimizer -a gemini-cliKnow where it goes
In a project the CLI writes to .agents/skills/, which Gemini CLI reads as workspace skills. With -g it writes to ~/.gemini/skills/, your user skills. On a name clash, workspace skills win over user skills.
Approve the skill
When your request matches a skill's description, Gemini CLI asks before it loads it, showing the skill's name, purpose and the folder it will read. Run /skills list to see what it found and /skills reload after installing.
Start with these
Twelve to start with, all built by seoskills.sh. The first four measure and improve how AI answers cite your brand; the rest cover audits, schema, local SEO, research and links.
Runs category prompts across answer engines and measures your brand's share of citations and mentions per engine, against each competitor.
Runs a prompt set through several LLMs on a schedule to track whether they mention your brand, how they frame it, and how accurate they are.
Checks how the Knowledge Graph and Wikidata define your brand, then recommends schema, sameAs and source fixes so AI answers identify it correctly.
Crawls a site from its sitemap and audits every page for crawl, index, on-page, content, schema and mobile issues, scored out of 100 with ranked fixes.
Generates complete JSON-LD for a page from what it shows, checks existing markup against Google's required properties, and flags what it could not find.
Audits a local business's website, Business Profile, reviews and citations against one name, address and phone, and ranks the fixes for local search.
Builds a prioritized keyword list from seed topics with Google Autocomplete and your exports, with intent, content type and create or update actions.
Finds the keywords several competitors rank for and you don't, returning a gap matrix prioritized by volume, overlap and difficulty.
Maps who ranks across your keyword universe, scoring each domain by SERP presence and average position to reveal your true organic competitors.
Builds X vs Y and alternatives pages from facts on each product's own site, with prices, plans and features sourced and dated, plus titles and an outline.
Plans a link campaign from your linkable assets and competitors' backlink exports: typed, scored prospects, a pitch per segment and a tracking sheet.
Questions
- Does Gemini CLI support SKILL.md skills?
- Yes. Gemini CLI reads skills from .agents/skills/ or .gemini/skills/ in your workspace and from ~/.gemini/skills/ or ~/.agents/skills/ for your user, in the same SKILL.md format other agents use.
- Why does Gemini CLI ask before using a skill?
- It shows a consent prompt with the skill's name, purpose and folder before loading it. Once you approve, the skill's instructions join the conversation and its folder becomes readable.
- How do I update or remove a skill?
- npx skills update refreshes everything you installed, npx skills list -a gemini-cli shows what Gemini CLI has, and npx skills remove <name> -a gemini-cli takes a skill out.
- Do the skills cost anything?
- No, every skill here is free to install. Some call paid APIs or AI models and need your own key; the skill's instructions say which.
